Yummy. Fennel. Just chop it up throw it in a salad. Or plain with a little lemon juice. Also great when roasting anyhting.

Have you done anything with it yet? Mine's still sitting on the counter taunting me to approach. Do you eat the green part or that big root thing? My only prior experience with Fennel is that god-awful Tom's of Maine toothpaste.

kbean: i have done NOTHING with it. apparently i think we are supposed to use the bulb (at least for the recipes that i've found so far). not mention use of the fronds.

Fennel has a licorice-y taste, so keep that in mind. I'm not a fan, personally, but there must be *something* you can do with it. Try RecipeSource?
